THE LOOK: LET THERE BE LIGHT
The first snowfall in NYC today had me thinking about this luminous look, makeup artist Polly Osmond, created on model Ginta Lapina for W Magazine. I, for one, plan on embracing pale winter skin by using a highlighter on the cheekbones and brow bones to create a natural lit from within glow.

THE LOOK: GO FOR GOLD
Stuck on this side of the pond for the Olympics in London? You can still go for gold with this look! Gold eye makeup is perfect for summer as it enhances any eye color and is the perfect compliment to sunkissed skin. Less is more, is most definitely the way to go with this look. I’m loving the look above where the focus is on the eyes with just a soft hint of pink blush to warm up the skin. To get the look sweep gold shadow over the lids, then add a thin line of black eyeliner and coat of mascara to define eyes. On your mark, get set, go!

THE LOOK: GET GLOWING
Supermodel Miranda Kerr can do no wrong beauty-wise as far as I’m concerned. She always manages to wear makeup in a way that is minimal and fresh, letting her natural beauty shine through. To get glowing skin like Miranda I recommend using one of my all time favorite beauty products RMS Beauty Living Luminizer. Made from coconut oil that is organic and completely non-toxic, this luminizer gives skin a healthy, dewy glow, without the greasy or glittery look of some highlighters on the market. Apply the luminizer with your fingers on the cheek bones, brow bones, down the bridge of the nose, and at the bow of the lips to get your glow on.

BEAUTY BAG: EXFOLIKATE INTENSIVE EXFOLIATING TREATMENT
The heat and humidity from last week’s heat wave in NY left my skin feeling less than stellar. Adding an exfoliating treatment to your summer skincare routine is a great way to keep your pores unclogged and your complexion looking fresh and bright. I got my hands on a sample of Kate Somerville’s ExfoliKate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment and let me tell you it’s a game changer. It is like a facial in a jar. In just one use my pores were clear and my skin was visibly smoother and brighter. Unlike some exfoliating treatments that can dry out your skin this one left my skin glowing, hydrated, and irritation free. According to Kate Somerville’s website scrubbing Microbeads and Fruit Enzymes utilizing Papaya, Pumpkin, and Pineapple clean pores, while salicylic acid balances hydration without over-drying. Rosewood and cinnamon extracts are combined to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. The addition of aloe vera, honey, and vitamin E smooth and soften the skin. I’m definitely putting this treatment into rotation once a week ASAP!

The Stella girl is synonymous with clean, glowing skin. For Stella McCartney Resort 2013, makeup artist Jeanine Lobell used Sunday Riley makeup, giving the look some edge by lining under the eye with Riley’s Pitch Black Velvet Gel Eyeliner. This edgy natural look is perfect for a summer night.
